South Ward School Clearwater FL

Our South Ward day was a wonderful and busy day! We had the new Clearwater Let’s Eat display, (that you may see every Friday and Saturday 10-2 and by appointment Monday – Thursday), 2 fabulous speakers, (that you can watch on our YouTube channel), interviews of former students that went to South Ward for our Podcast, (that you can find on Spotify on Clearwater History Speaks or listen from the link below), classic cars on display thanks to Larry Clem (Car Show Larry) and Vern Packer, and a Food Truck, thanks to Cal’s Soulfood.

Thank you to some of the best volunteers! Marvin Siple and Tom Fox opened up the gates and museum early this morning. Trudy Kelly, Alex Casano, Rosemary Casano and Mike Casano took care of the Event Center and the South Ward Memorabilia. Jeanne Holquist put together the books of class photos. Lorelei Keif and Lila Grant manned the museum. Ceann Lane-Hayes worked her butt off to make the ground look great for the day. Susan Raineri worked the podcast. And thanks to Dena Colgan for coming straight to the museum from her vacation. Then after everything, when the day was done, Ginger Darling (of Nationwide Towing) and Marvin Siple graciously helped pick up a large donated item. It was a beautiful day at the museum with the best volunteers and visitors. The Clearwater Historical Society can not thank everyone enough for the support we have gotten and continue to get as we grow and expand. Right now we are run by a small and mighty band of volunteers. We are so grateful and hope it continues. PS to the 4 people that are our new volunteers welcome aboard!

Bay News 9 did a nice story on South Ward School! Take 3 minutes to watch. Watch it here!
