How does a museum get started? How do you turn 5 acres and 6 buildings into a place to be proud of? Where do you start? One step and one check at a time!

Clearwater has a long and rich history and it comes to life through artifacts, photographs, newspaper clippings, documents and maps. We have an eager volunteer force, a dedicated board, an impressive list of Pioneer donors and a growing membership. You can help ensure our Collection grows and our financial resources sustain us well into the future. Here’s how:

Donate: The Collection

Over 40 years the Society gathered a vast collection of artifacts, archival documents, and photographs to one day house in a worthy location. Since our Grand Opening in 2019 generations of alumni, their children and grandchildren have come forward with family treasures to share.

If you have personal family or local memorabilia that you would like to donate or loan to us we would love to hear from you. Gifts of items, equipment, memorabilia etc. are considered tangible charitable gifts.

Donate: Annual Settler VIP Program

We welcome individuals and businesses to join our annual Settler VIP Membership Program. Launched in 2020, Settlers make a significant impact on the growth of the museum and the quality of exhibits and events produced each year.  The annual membership is $1,000, and when paid before December 20 each year, will be matched by an anonymous donor with $500, making the contribution $1,500. Gifts can also be paid monthly. Settlers receive the following benefits for a full year:
– Invitation for 2 to Annual Settler Appreciation Reception
– Invitation for 2 to all Exhibit Opening Receptions
– Recognized at Society events.
– Recognized in print and electronic promotion.
– Discount on Event Center Rental

Donate: The Capital Campaign: Make us the place you want us to be!

The Clearwater Historical Society is preparing for major construction to renovate and restore the former Kindergarten, Cafeteria, Kitchen, and Event Center into a multi-use community center for education, events, recreation, meetings, workshops and receptions. Estimates start at $7 million and a Capital Campaign Launch is scheduled for early 2024, We invite you to  Make us the place you want us to be! Sponsorship offers opportunities to underwrite and fund exhibits and events that support the CHS mission to Educate, Collect, Preserve, Exhibit and Promote the People, Culture, Events and rich history of Clearwater, Florida.
